COURSE DESCRIPTION:

$549 per child. Up to 10 students per group. 

This eight-hour course focuses on instilling the six basic skills of communication:

1. Verbal Communication

2. Non-verbal Communication

3. Volume

4. Tone

5. Pitch

6. Pace

HOURS 1-2:

We define, identify and practice all six skills through: completing worksheets; watching TED talks, instructor & peer demonstrations; performing drill exercises and more. A short, non-graded quiz is then administered to ensure students understand the foundational skills before moving on. 

HOURS 3-4:

We present short speeches about why we're so awesome, and then practice the basics of interpersonal communication and small-talk through mock interviews and encounters. 

HOURS 5-6:

We work on thought organization and limited-preparation speaking by presenting "How To" speeches and coming up with short stories based upon a prompt of a person, place and problem. 

HOURS 7-8:

Finally, hours seven and eight are spent annotating, practicing and presenting a 45-second speech about a topic of the student's choosing.

WORRY-FREE POLICY:

Fret not; if your child is unhappy after the first session, you have until 24 hours before the second session to withdraw from class, and you will receive a refund for the remainder of the hours.
